NEASC
Northampton High School is beginning a self-study process for re-accreditation with NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges). This process requires involvement of students, staff, parents and the larger Northampton community.
As we go through the process, we will post links to resources as well as materials created for the final report.
There are seven areas that NEASC will be reviewing. Last summer a group of teachers, student and parents began to meet to discuss the Core Values, Beliefs and Expectations of Northampton High School. Below are links to two of the three components that will be provided to NEASC. Please note, that all documents prepared for NEASC are considered working documents. Changes may be made to them and as changes are made the revised documents will be posted.
Teaching and Learning Standard 1: Core Values, Beliefs and Learning Expectations:
Effective schools identify core values and beliefs about learning that function as explicit foundational commitments to students and the community. Decision-making remains focused on and aligned with these critical commitments. Core values and beliefs manifest themselves in research-based, school-wide 21st century learning expectations. Every component of the school is driven by the core values and beliefs and supports all students' achievements of the school's learning expectations.
