Environmental Club
For years the Northampton high school student body has been concerned with the environment, this year the club is run by Mr. Melnik along with our president Maddie Warren. In the spring of 2010 Melnik was discussing how food corporations were wasting resources and contaminating crops with steroids and growth hormones. As a result of this discussion the club decide to grow some of our own crops in a small garden on the grounds of the High School. The garden was a great success and the club hope to expand it this coming spring. We have also had several bake sales to raise money for the club. Maddie organized a water bottle sale to both raise funds and help the environment. The water bottles we sold were metal reusable bottles to reduce the use of plastic ones. The club meets weekly on Tuesdays after school.
