In 2001, Northampton High School completed a $26 million renovation and expansion, and it is now a two hundred thousand square foot facility. Its completely updated technology infrastructure contains over six hundred networked data drops, with fully networked computers in every classroom in addition to five new computer labs. The research facilities in the Library and Media Center include a computer lab, two computer-equipped classrooms, and additional computers for student use in the library itself. The Technology Education wing contains a full project lab, a modular equipment technology lab, a graphics lab, an audiovisual room, a culinary arts lab and a multipurpose room. The Science wing classrooms contain both laboratory and classroom seating, as well as the latest equipment for safety and programming; three are equipped for biology, two for chemistry, one for physics and one for general science. The five thousand square foot Art wing contains one classroom equipped for jewelry making and ceramics, and two additional studios for 2D and 3D instruction. The sound and lighting systems in the auditorium have been completely renovated and updated. Adjacent to the auditorium are acoustically designed rooms for band and chorus totaling over four thousand two hundred square feet, as well as three soundproof practice rooms. The Guidance and Career Center contains both individual offices and a computer-equipped viewing room where students can examine college and career information. The new, spacious cafeteria and kitchen facilities overlook the playing fields.

The outdoor athletic facilities include new fields for football, baseball, softball and field hockey, as well as an all-weather track and bleachers. The indoor athletic facilities include the renovated, fully-equipped gymnasium, an aerobics room, a fitness room with strength-training equipment, boys? and girls? locker and team rooms, and a locker room for visiting teams.
